The current motor on the A901 is 375 watts power (A901 deluxe Models are 450 watt) both without pulse action and not slow enough for folding. Today's Kenwood Chef / Major models have more powerful motors and with the extra power they can cope with the increased demands of a modern kitchen.

They also have pulse action for bursts of full power when you use the liquidiser or mini chopper. They are also capable of 'folding' slowly and for much longer periods.
